I love St. Patrick's Day. I mean...I LOVE IT.
I don't have to try very hard to be Irish; I've got green in my blood and a pint in my stomach (figuratively speaking, of course. Green blood would just be crazy.) As a teenager, my family made a pilgrimage to the Emerald Isle. I remember lifting the shade on my window as the captain made his approach. That first glimpse left me so speechless, Yeats himself couldn't have stirred me. You've never seen the color green until you've seen Ireland, and frankly, a nation that beautiful has every right to feel lucky.
